Are you also someone who uses a desktop/laptop for hours in a day but struggles with a wired mouse because of its cable length or cable management on the desk?
I was also having the same problem, I have a laptop and usually have to take it along with me to college. Now every time I had to use the laptop outside my home, I would be taking out the wired mouse, untangle the cable (as the wired mouses used to get tangled in the bag due to imprudent handling of the bag), and then connecting it to the laptop. Even after using it, I would again tie the cable and put it into the bag.
This was not an efficient way of using a mouse. Also at home, the wired mouse was just adding the mess on the desk which I had already created. To overcome these issues, I decided to upgrade to a wireless mouse and solve all of these problems at once!
As I was going to use this mouse for daily internet surfing, assignments, a lot of coding, and a fair bit of gaming (of course!), there was no meaning of getting a high-end mouse, like MX Master 3. I wanted to have a decent compact mouse that can work for at least a year without getting me a problem. So rather than getting any cheap quality mouse, I decided to go with Logitech B170, as it was a compact, sturdy, accurate, and reliable brand.
Now let's have a look at the mouse.
What you will get inside the box?
The box is simple and minimalistic. It had just the mouse and a couple of paperwork.
The price mentioned on the box is INR 795, but you will get it anywhere around INR 600 on Amazon.
On the front, there are two buttons(Left and Right click button) and a scroll wheel.
On the sides, there is a simple but subtle pattern that makes it easy to use it for hours and does not let your hand getting sweaty.
On the backside of the mouse, there is a flap that opens to reveal the battery compartment and wireless receiver.
Notice the notation of 'INVISIBLE OPTIC' on the right-hand side: it means that it does not emit the typical red light from the back of the mouse, it uses invisible optic technology to identify movements and does not throw that annoying red laser light.
So, after using it for over 2 years, here are my observations:
Pros of Logitech B170:
Compact size: This is the biggest plus point of this mouse, it is compact, yet comfortable to hold and use, this is an image for reference of size in hand:
Sensitivity: The sensitivity of this mouse is high and does not skip any movements, even the slightest. So, it is one of the best gaming mouse under 1000.
Range: This has a pretty long operating range. I use it to watch movies by connecting the laptop to the TV and it does operate at a distance of 4-5 meters without any problem.
Durability: I am not very careful while keeping things and drop the mouse at least 3-4 times a month. Even after two years, the mouse has not shown any damage or defect.
Battery Life: To my quite surprise, the battery has lasted over two years in this mouse, I am still using the same battery which was provided in the box.
Wireless connector: Some people will say that it will be a CON to have a wireless dongle connected to your desktop/ laptop when you can get a Bluetooth mouse. But the problem here is if you will get a Bluetooth mouse, how you will connect a wireless Bluetooth earphone? also, laptops and desktops do not have an as long-range of Bluetooth receiver as compared to the Radio Frequency receiver provided with this mouse.
Tip: You can also use this as a PowerPoint slide changing remote because there won't be that annoying red light!

Cons of Logitech B170:
One con I found in this mouse would be the DPI accuracy, but since it is a budget mouse this is acceptable and you should not expect it to have a multiple DPI setting at this price point.
Conclusion:
