Adlabs Imagica Theme Park & Mumbai trip from Ahmedabad

This post is about my trip from Ahmedabad to Adlabs Imagica Theme Park and Mumbai from Ahmedabad: Travel Plan, Ticket Price, Offers for Students, Places to visit, Best Time to Visit, and Tips

Adlabs imagica Trip with Friends

It was almost and end of the vacation of my 3rd year of graduation and I and my school friends were looking to have a trip to some adventurous trip but in the budget. There are not many options for a Theme park in Gujarat if you consider a full-fledged Theme Park. So we decided to go for Adlabs Imagica which was comparatively new at that time and also had one of the best rides in India. Also, it was our first official trip with friends, so we all were very excited!

We planned a 4 day trip including the train and flight journey wherein one day was spared for Imagica and the other three days were kept for exploring Mumbai. If you are visiting Imagica from Ahmedabad, then you have to and should visit Mumbai, Because the transportation options are available from Mumbai to Imagica unless you are having your own vehicle.

Now let's look at the Travel Plan:

Day 1:

We started our journey from Ahmedabad Railway station in the early morning train Karnavati Express, which departs at 5 in the morning and arrives at 12:35 at Mumbai Central.

Being Monsoon, we enjoyed the scenic views from the train, and at 12:35 sharp, we reached Mumbai Central (Karnavati Express is known for its punctuality):

Upon reaching Mumbai Central, we took a ride on the heart of Mumbai i.e. The Local Train to reach Dadar station. our accommodation was planned near Dadar Station. After reaching the room, we rested for some time and got ready to explore Mumbai.

Being tired from the train journey, we decided not to visit the best relaxing place in Mumbai, which is Marine drive. You can spend a couple of hours here watching the sea without getting bored and the view is complemented by hustle and bustle of the dream city on the other side.

After enjoying the serene sunset, we reached Juhu Beach to explore its night food market. It has so many options for food and one can never get enough from a large array of food options. After overeating the famous Pav-Bhaji and Sandwiches, we took a stroll on Juhu beach to soak in the night vibes of the Beach.

After a short walk on the beach and a lot of crosstalk, we returned to our room and called it a day.

Day 2:

The next day, we were in a relaxed mood and not in a hurry to visit places. We decided to spend some time in the room and after lunch, we started our sightseeing.
Around 3, we reached Bandra Bandstand. The black rocks and sea have made this place an icon of Mumbai. You can spend here a couple of hours just by walking on those rocks and witnessing the energy of this place.

Walking down the beach, we reached Bandra Fort, the famous Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na spot. Though it has changed a bit compared to the movie, still, you cannot get enough of the view of Bandra-Worli Sea Link.

After spending a couple of hours in Bandra fort, we then went to Haji Ali Dargah. The Dargah is built in the sea on an islet. The path leading to the shrine submerges into the water in the evenings, So you should visit this place before sunset. People visit this shrine irrespective of caste, creed, and religion to offer their prayers and get their wishes fulfilled by the blessings of the revered Saint.

It was around 6 P.M. and we thought we could cover one more place, so decided to go to the Gateway of India. We spend considerable time at the Gateway of India watching the monument and also the grand Taj Mahal Palace opposite to Gateway of India.

It was already dinner time so we went to a nearby stall that sold the famous three-layer jumbo sandwich 😋

After having dinner, we came back to our room and prepared for the next day when we actually visited Imaicaa Theme Park.

Day 3:

Since we were 5 persons, we had to choose the bus option to reach Imagica as more than 4 people were not allowed on car transportation provided by Imagica. We started our journey from Bandra East which is a scheduled pick-up stop for transportation service provided by Imagica Theme Park. The bus was scheduled to depart at 8 A.M. and it was on time. After 2 hours of journey from Mumbai to Khopoli, we reached Theme Park.

We had planned this trip in the non-peak season so there were not many visitors. Also, it rained heavily that morning so it resulted in even fewer footprints on that day.

Most of the rides start after 11 A.M. so you have to wait for one or more hours to get into rides. During initial hours, all rides are jam-packed but after lunchtime, the waiting lines tend to shorten compared to the morning.

Ride timings for the day

The first ride we chose was undoubtedly the Nitro: it is THE best thrill ride of this theme park without a second thought and that is why you will see the longest waiting queue for this ride.

Experiencing the speeds of Nitro, we then tried the second ride which was the Scream machine. Believe me, if you can keep your eyes open when the ride goes exactly horizontal, you will be seeing one of the best views of the surroundings and the park from this point. But you have to keep your eyes open 😅

After enjoying these two rides, we took a short break and clicked some pictures at Wild West County where some photo booths and props are placed to click pictures.

Then we visited the Splash Ahoy ride, it is great if you are in a group. You can have a battle of ships with water guns.

It was close to lunchtime and we thought of choosing the last light ride before going for lunch. So we went to Bump It Boats. It is a ride where 2 people ride a boat and bump it with other boats, Nothing fancy.

After having lunch, we decided not to directly go for thrill rides to avoid vomit and dizziness. So we went to try Alibaba Aur Chalis Chor. It is a shooting game where you are boarded with 3 other people on a vehicle and you are saving the treasure from 40 thieves. Easy, simple, and fun ride if you are in a group.

Before getting again on thrill rides, we took the opportunity of clouded weather and took some pictures at this beautiful place:

After clicking pictures, we then proceeded towards some indoor rides. Since it was raining, outdoor rides were closed for some time, we tried almost every indoor ride.

One of the biggest surprises to me was the ride Deep Space. Being an indoor ride, I thought that there would be some movie or normal Role Play Activity. But it turned out to be a high-speed Roller Coaster which included 180-degree flips! When the lights were turned on during the ride, I could see the track of the Roller Coaster ride and it gave me goosebumps at first. It was the second-best ride after Nitro according to me.

After getting a surprise from Deep Space, we then visited the Rajasaurus River Adventure ride. It is also an indoor ride that takes you through the Dinosaur age along with sudden twists but ends with a sweet surprise of a sudden drop in the water!

It was almost 5 P.M. and we had covered almost all the rides, so we visited one last remaining ride which was D2: Dare to Drop, which as the name suggests drops you from a height of 132 feet at a speed of 72 Kmph!

Grand Imagica Parade is arranged in the evening to end your day with another spectacular experience, but due to rain, it was canceled on that day.

We then visited the souvenir shop to see if there is something good to purchase, but the prices of the products seemed too high.

At 7 P.M. the bus departs to take you and your amazing memories to Mumbai. After reaching Mumbai, we had dinner and slept very well with still feeling the adrenaline rush of thrill rides.

The next day we went to explore the nearby Dadar Market. We had our flight scheduled at 10 P.M. so we had plenty of time to roam around. After exploring the Dadar Market, we went to Siddhivinayak temple.

We still had a long time to spend, so we went to Mahalaxmi Temple and then a nearby Garden by the beach.

After having lunch, we returned to the hotel since it was raining heavily that day, we found it more feasible to reach the airport early. We were aware of the traffic conditions of Mumbai and that is why we reached the airport early. To give you a perspective, it took us around 2 hours to cover a distance of 13 Kilometres! Have a look at the traffic jam on the road (Zoom in to see the traffic):

As a result, we were 3 hours early than the scheduled departure, and we spent 2 hours sitting in the airport. After several gate changes and flight delays, we boarded the flight and reached Ahmedabad with a truckload of Memories 😂😁

Some things to be considered if you are planning to visit Adlabs Imagica:

Tickets and offers for Adlabs Imagica:

The prices of the tickets vary from time to time, but there are always offers for College and School Students. In our case, we got a ticket at 999 Rupees excluding taxes. It is always suggested to book your tickets before visiting the theme park.

How to Reach Adlabs Imagica/ Transportation Options:

If you do have your own car, you can start the travel early in the morning from Mumbai or Pune to reach Adlabs Imagica within 2 hours. If you do not have your own car then there are two options available to you:
  1. 4 or 6 sharing car which picks you up from Mumbai or Pune and drops at your location. It costs you around 750 Rupees per person.
  2. If you are comfortable in taking a bus, or your group members do not match with the car-sharing number, then you can choose the bus ride. In our case, we were 5 people and the pickup stop was nearby our room so we decided to go on the bus. The price of a bus ticket is around 600 Rupees per person. The buses are comfortable and are of this type:

Note that both the bus and car are to be pre-booked before you visit the theme park.

Food in Adlabs Imagica:

Outside food is strictly not allowed within the park, though water facility is available at several places. Food within the theme park is expensive. A normal meal cost me 600 Rupees. Snacks are available but the prices of them are also high.

Rides and Food:

It is suggested to visit the outdoor rides and thrill rides before having lunch or after a couple of hours of lunch to avoid any unwanted circumstances.

Rides in Adlabs Imagica:

Most of the rides are operational, but when it rains, outdoor rides are shut off for till the rain stops. In our case, the Gold Rush Express was not operational throughout the day.
Group: It is always better to go with your friends or family to these types of places, it makes it more enjoyable with your friends and family in group rides.

Best Time to visit Adlabs Imagica:

If you want to enjoy all the rides with fewer crowds, the winter season is best for you. Avoid going on weekends as the rush is high. If you want to enjoy the views and almost no rush like me, but can compromise on a few rides, then monsoon is the best season according to me.
